Due to accelerated growth, Opti-Port is now seeking a high-energy professional to champion member engagement and ensure all members realize the full value of their relationship with Opti-Port. Though its roots are in group purchasing, the firm continues to expand its services as the dynamic nature of the eye care industry creates greater demand for a wider array of training and assistance. Through ongoing consultations with members, the Director of Member Services will be ideally positioned to connect members to Opti-Port’s growing capabilities.


Major Responsibilities:

  • New Business Development: Provide leadership to efforts to grow the Opti-Port membership. Support and coach the New Member Recruiter in the sales process. Collaborate with the Marketing Director in developing and executing the annual marketing plan.

  • Member Engagement: Strategize the best opportunities for Opti-Port to add value to its members… in aggregate, as well as in each client’s individual circumstances. Consider how to make the most of Opti-Port’s ongoing meetings and interactions with members. Make timely visits to existing members to enhance customer engagement, drive participation, gather feedback, and report on membership ROI.

  • Member Consulting: Serve as a trusted advisor to member executives – helping them think through business challenges and connecting them with the appropriate people or programs to spur growth.

  • Supplier Relations: Collaborate with team members to devise negotiating strategies for the key suppliers in Opti-Port’s group purchasing network. Participate in these negotiations from time to time to ensure a successful resolution.

  • Team Management: Recruit, manage and develop a growing team of product or service specialists. Initially the Director’s team will number 3 direct reports, and this number is expected to grow over time.

  • Service Enhancement: Monitor unmet member needs and industry trends for opportunities to expand Opti-Port’s products/services and drive even greater value to members.


Qualifications:

  • 7+ years prior managerial-level experience within a service business.

  • Experience in any of the following markets is a plus: eye care, healthcare, management consulting, group purchasing organizations, industry associations

  • Must have the ability to quickly earn the trust and confidence of “C” level executives in mid-sized eye care practices.

  • Must be comfortable working with financial statements and helping organizations think through profitability.

  • Prior contract negotiation experience required.

  • Should excel at creative problem-solving and pattern recognition.

  • Prior experience managing and developing a small team is required.

  • Must be a self-starter.

  • 4-year degree required; MBA or advanced degree desired.

Director of Member Services

 

ACCOUNT

MANAGER

 

Reporting to the Director of Membership, the Account Manager is primarily responsible for increasing value for Opti-Port members and suppliers through increasing member purchasing and program improvements.  

 

The major missions for this role are:

I.    Increase existing member organic purchases to meet established growth target.
II.    Improve value to Opti-Port partnership for suppliers by increasing purchases and/or by developing program enhancements.
III.    Add value for members participating in the Advantage program by increasing engagement with Opti-Port purchasing programs, practice management strategies and other offerings tailored to individual practice needs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with existing Advantage members ensuring participants are engaged and receiving value

  • Manage relationships with suppliers ensuring continued improvement in purchase volumes

  • Perform regular business reviews with members and vendors to review activity and propose improvements to ensure maximum value is being received

  • Continue to develop new or enhanced vendor programs

  • Perform vendor bids to optimize contract value with selected suppliers

  • Ensure communication with members and suppliers is timely and appropriate

  • Other duties as assigned

Account Manager

 

MEMBER

RECRUITER

Member Recruiter

Reporting directly to the Director of Member Services, the Opti-Port Member Recruiter will primarily be responsible for growing Opti-Port membership. The Member Recruiter will initiate the sales process, prepare sales presentations and close sales throughout the United States.


The major missions for this role are:

 

  1. Grow Opti-Port membership with quality members.

  2. Manage sales pipeline, document prospect interactions and ensure efficient lead management.

  3. Maximize profitability of membership through appropriate pricing and additional services such as CLX and OPDM.


Significant Duties:

  • Utilize a consistent contact attempt process via phone and email to qualify and nurture prospects.

  • Manage pipeline and opportunities to close sales.

  • Demonstrate full understanding of current marketing campaigns and offerings.

  • Document prospect interaction, ensuring efficient lead management.

  • Qualify members with appropriate financial strength, environment and customer focus.

  • Develop and maintain daily plans to maximize phone time, including pre-call planning, adhering to metrics and messaging to market segments and prospect type.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key supplier partners as a part of lead generation.

  • Maintain CRM with prospecting and sales activities to ensure database is current and accurate.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 4-year degree from an accredited University/College

  • A minimum of 5 years sales experience, preferably in vision care or healthcare

  • Experience using CRM platforms

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

ACCOUNT

COORDINATOR

GPO Account Coordinator

Reporting to the GPO Account Manager, the GPO Account Coordinator is primarily responsible for supporting the Account Managers to help increase the value offering for both Opti-Port members and suppliers.


The major missions for this role are:

 

  1. Building and updating member account profiles.

  2. Building spreadsheets to help with analysis and business reviews.

  3. Communications with members, prospects and suppliers.

  4. Analyzing numbers looking for trends, anomalies


Significant Duties:

  • Help manage relationships with existing Advantage members ensuring participants are engaged and receiving value

  • Help manage relationships with suppliers ensuring continued improvement in purchase volumes

  • Ensure communication with members and suppliers is timely and appropriate

  • Enter monthly purchases into GPO system

  • Build business reviews

  • Recruit members to attend meetings

  • Collect information from suppliers regarding meeting attendance

  • Update CRM to build out member profiles

  • Assist with vendor proposal process building analysis spreadsheets

  • Regularly meet with Opti-Port Departments (Marketing, CLX, etc.) to develop awareness of internal new initiatives, including lead generation

  • Assist GPO Account Manager with new initiatives and projects

  • Other duties as assigned


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 4-year degree from an accredited University/College

  • A minimum of 2 years sales and/or customer service experience, preferably in vision care or healthcare

  • Experience using CRM platforms

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
